NZ Beat Eng by 1 Run- 2nd TEST

After Brendon McCullum took over as coach and Ben Stokes as captain, the England test playing strategy changed completely. The way England has been playing Tests under this pair so far, this most elite version of cricket will probably lose its tradition.

Ben Stokes has completely reversed the culture of playing slowly in Tests. However, they are also getting success in this strategy. No one has ever seen such aggressive batting or such an aggressive Test in the history of Test cricket. NZ Beat Eng by 1 Run.

Wellington's Basin Reserve in 2023 evoked memories of the Eden Test in 2001. New Zealand won the Test despite being forced to follow on against England. This is the fourth time in the history of Test cricket that this has happened. In March 2001, Sourav Ganguly's India won the Test despite being forced to follow on against Australia. Then today  Kiwis set that example.

Ben Stokes' England needed 258 runs to win the Wellington Test and win the series 2–0. At the end of the fourth day yesterday, the score was 48 for 1 in 11 overs. But England could not score the required runs as the Kiwi's short ball plan was very successful.    Ben Stokes and Joe Root took him in 201 after losing 5 wickets for 80 runs. Stokes was dismissed for 201 runs in the team, and the follow-on root returned to the team's 202 runs. In the end, Brendon McCullum's team was all out for 256 runs in 74.2 overs. Root scored 95, Ben Foakes 35, and Stokes scored 33 runs. Wagner returned James Anderson to the pressure on their nerves and ensured a stunning victory. He took 4 wickets for 62 runs. Tim Southee took three wickets also Matt Henry took two wickets. Harry Brooke's 186 and Joe Root's unbeaten 153 helped England declare their first innings at 435 for 8. New Zealand's first innings ended at 209 runs. The Kiwis scored 483 runs in the second innings after being forced to follow on. Kane Williamson scored 132 runs. Tom Blundell scored 90 and Daryl Mitchell scored 54 runs. Jack Leach took five wickets. In the 2001 Eden Test, Australia followed India. India won the Test by 1follow on71 runs. In the Sydney Test in 1894, England was forced to follow on against Australia and won by 10 runs. The same incident was repeated in Leeds in 1981.  Australia followed England to follow on, and England won by 18 runs. As a result, this is the fourth time a team has won a Test by being forced to follow on. This is the second time that he has won a Test by 1 run. West Indies defeated Australia by 1 run in Adelaide in 1993. Then came New Zealand's win over England in the Wellington Test.
