‘If Bumrah doesn’t want to play Test cricket…': Australia legend Jeff Thomson's message for India pacer

Jasprit Bumrah's injury woe dealt relatively a blow to India's chances to win two glories in 2022. He'd been ruled out of the Asia Cup as a preventative measure considering the T20 World Cup latterly in the time but he ended up getting injured before the marquee event itself. In both events, India failed to make it to the final, with Rohit Sharma's side getting knocked out after a 10- gate defeat to England in thesemi- tests of theT20WorldCup.Bumrah has not played since September last time due to a back injury he suffered before the T20 World Cup. Bumrah has not been included in the team for the first two Tests against Australia but captain Rohit Sharma is hopeful that he'll be suitable to join the platoon for the rest of the series.

He said that he understands players, particularly presto bowlers, having to take rest as they've to play all time long in mulitple formats, unlike what was the case back in his florescences. “ There's so important justice. They play all time round. We did not do that. It was a long stint, four and a half months. But generally we just played the summer so we'd gradationally make up after Christmas full on. Because I knew I was going to get rest, ” Thomson, who took 200 structures in 51 Tests between 1973 and 1985, said on Revsportz.

The 29- time-old Burmah, who hasn't played transnational justice since September last time due to a back injury, isn't in the India team for the first two Tests but returned to coliseum lately at the National Cricket Academy nets, raising expedients of a comeback in the near future. The first two Test matches, of course, he's not going to be available. I'mexpecting.I'm hoping, not awaiting, that he plays the coming( last) two Test matches( against Australia). We do not want to take any pitfalls with him as back injuries are always critical. We've a lot of justice coming back after that as well," Rohit said on Tuesday.

" We're in constant touch with physios and croakers in NCA. We'll cover. The medical platoon will give him as important time

“ Now, you can not do that. That is why they've all those back over bowlers and they rest people. In our day we did not rest. If we had a rest someone differently would take our spot. It's a matter of having to rest these days because it's a 12- month a time job. ”

Thomson admitted that it would have been delicate for him to play Test justice considering the shorter formats can help him stretch his career while earning a good quantum of plutocrat.

“ Well,( Bumrah) has to work out what he wants to play, short formats or Testmatchesorboth. However, it would be truly hard for me to play Test matches, If I suppose about if I was playing now. Especially, when you get so important plutocrat in the short interpretation of the game which just makes your life more. We did not have to suppose about plutocrat in our days because there was no plutocrat. Now it's a huge business.. I suppose you have to be more cunning these days in terms of workload and watch what yougottoplay. However, they're going to pick you any way so you should be suitable to pull the strings, ” he said, If you're good enough.

Thomson said that anyhow of what decision Bumrah makes, his standing as a great bowler lies in the fact that he'll attract crowds anyhow of what format he plays in. “ I suppose it's the crowd that decides that. They know howgoodheis. However, they will turn up to watch him, If he does not want to play Test justice that's a bit of a blow but if he plays in a T20. What I'm telling you is that if a joe limited himself to that, he's going to be playing for longer, ” he said.
